The Risk, Middle Office, and Control Management Team will partner with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Compliance, Risk and Audit, among others. The Commercial Banking Risk Control team will work in partnership on the development of new, and oversight of existing, control functions and protocols throughout the Firm and will provide a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation. This process will enable the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.

With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.

The Risk Reporting, Middle Office and Control team has members bring a global perspective and globally coordinated approach to compliance oversight.

As a Control Manager Associate supporting Commercial Banking Risk, you'll be responsible for ensuring Commercial Banking Risk and Shared Services has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end Control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner.

**Job responsibilities**
- Facilitate Control related discussions, including participation in regulatory related initiatives (including regulatory coordination and remediation activities), ad hoc presentations with stakeholders to ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols in a timely fashion
- Oversee control-related activities, including risk and control self-assessments, provide control related due diligence to foster a proactive culture, to deliver consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and Control programs including control committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design and effectiveness evaluation/testing
- Regulatory coordination and remediation efforts and liaise with Internal Audit to review the schedules, status of engagements, potential areas of concerns
- Identify meaningful metrics, perform ongoing analysis of program related data (Key Risk Indicators/Key Performance Indicators, etc.), develop ad-hoc reports to support business-related programs, and escalate control breaks based on key reporting indicators by maintaining standard management reporting, including metrics and report on material breaches
- Evaluate, analyze, track, and monitor control environment for weaknesses and develop issues and action plans to ensure progress toward planned completion dates
- Lead Control Management for Risk projects including regulatory and exam support which includes providing controls oversight and guidance to business partners which may include the development and delivery of training sessions / programs as needed to educate partners
- Manage risk and control identification, risk assessment and rating (inherent and residual risk analysis), control evaluation (design, validation, findings & conclusions) and rating, and reporting and analysis of results

**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in financial services implementing effective Controls within control management, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred and demonstrable familiarity with regulatory requirements
- Strong communication (oral and written) with high degree of comfort communicating with management
- Ability to analyze problems with keen attention to detail; with the ability to aggregate data and identify root causes.
- Work autonomously to affect change - adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results managed environment.
