**Job Description: School Librarian**
**Location**: Bangalore

**Role Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Manage Library Operations**: Oversee daily library operations, including cataloging, issuing/returning books, and maintaining an organized, user-friendly space.
- **Develop and Maintain Book Collection**: Select, acquire, and organize books and other learning materials to meet students’ academic and recreational needs.
- **Promote Reading Culture**: Plan and conduct reading programs, book clubs, and literacy initiatives to encourage students' love for reading.
- **Support Academic Programs**: Collaborate with teachers to provide curriculum support and recommend resources for classroom instruction.
- **Coordinate Library Resources**: Manage digital learning platforms, multimedia resources, and other educational tools within the library.
- **Student Assistance**: Guide students in using the library effectively for research, study, and exploration.
- **Ensure Library Safety and Hygiene**: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and reading.
- **Monitor Inventory**: Keep track of book circulation, monitor damaged/lost resources, and oversee regular stock audits.
- **Host Events**: Organize story sessions, book fairs, author visits, and other literacy programs in collaboration with school administration.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Library Science (B.Lib or M.Lib) or equivalent.
- **Proven work experience as a School Librarian, particularly in residential school settings.**:

- Experience managing both print and digital library resources.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with library management software and other technological tools for academic research.

**Key Skills**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Technological literacy and adaptability to integrate multimedia tools into library programs.
- Ability to connect with students and foster an engaging learning environment.

**Other Requirements**:

- Immediate availability to join the institution.
- Background checks may be conducted.
- Proficiency in English and familiarity with local languages is preferred but not required.
