**Job Description**:

- Works to promote environmental health and safety, by implementing safety programs, conducting periodic safety audits, and arranging training for all employees.
- Performs or assists with accident investigation as needed, and insures that processes take necessary corrective action to prevent future incidents.
- Responsible for record keeping of the safety function, including OSHA and EPA filings.
- Communicate with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals
- Knowledge and management of central, state and local environmental, health and safety compliance.
- Inspect equipments to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
- Facilitate the safety team meetings
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Administer Near Miss Program and assign action items as necessary.
- Ability to make decisions that could affect all departments
- Choose appropriate training methods per case (virtual, simulated, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
- Check the effectiveness of trainers and trainees after each educational session.
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities, equipment and matrixes.
- Additional responsibilities and activities may be added on a need basis, as assigned by manager.
