**Job Title: Lab Executive - Compressed Biogas Plant (CBG)**
**Location**:Karnal, Haryana

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Sample Collection and Preparation**:
- Collect biogas, slurry, digestate samples and other relevant materials from different points in the plant.
- Prepare and label samples for analysis according to established protocols.
2. **Laboratory Analysis**:
- Perform a range of analytical tests on biogas samples, including gas composition, calorific value, impurity levels, and moisture content.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as muffle furnace, hot air oven, pH meter, weighing balance, DO meter, COD digester, BOD analyser, high
- performance liquid chromatograph, gas chromatograph, calorimeters, moisture analysers, etc.
- Adhere to safety protocols while handling and analysing potentially hazardous samples.
- Perform a range of analytical tests on slurry/digestate/wastewater samples, including total solids, volatile solids, total dissolved solids, chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, alkalinity etc.
3 **. Data Recording and Reporting**:
- Record test results accurately and maintain organized and detailed laboratory records.
- Prepare technical reports summarizing test findings and analysis outcomes.
- Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to communicate results and contribute to process improvements.
4. **Equipment Maintenance**:
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment regularly to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instruments as needed, under the guidance of the Lab Manager.
5 **. Quality Control and Assurance**:
- Participate in quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute to its refinement when necessary.
6. **Safety and Compliance**:
- Adhere to safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling materials safely.
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to laboratory operations.
7 **. Inventory Management**:
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents, and assist in procurement as needed.
8. **Continuous Learning**:
- Stay updated with advancements in biogas analysis techniques and technology.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology or a related field.
- Proven experience working (1+ year) in a laboratory setting, preferably in the field of gas analysis, slurry analysis or similar.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of analytical techniques such as alkalinity, total solids, volatile solids, chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, buffering capacity, high
- performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols rigorously.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using basic computer software and data analysis tools.
