Job Description: Legal Associate - Civil Litigation

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct legal research and analysis of case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to civil litigation matters, with a particular focus on cases under the NI Act, summary suits, and related areas.
- Draft and review legal documents, including notices, writ petitions, appeals, and 138 complaints, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to applicable laws and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of legal opinions, memoranda, and other written materials as required.
- Provide comprehensive support in all stages of the litigation process, from initial case assessment to trial and appeals.
- Independently manage and handle a diverse caseload involving civil litigation matters, including those in city civil courts, high courts, and various tribunals such as DRT, RERA, and NCLT.
- Appear in court and tribunals on behalf of clients, effectively presenting arguments, cross-examining witnesses, and advocating for favorable outcomes.
- Collaborate with the legal team, clients, and external stakeholders to gather and organize relevant evidence, documentation, and expert opinions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, records, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards and ethical obligations.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation, court rules, and legal practices pertaining to civil litigation, specifically in areas related to the NI Act, summary suits, and relevant tribunals.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients, ensuring their understanding of legal rights, risks, and options.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university. Additional specialized qualifications or certifications in civil litigation would be advantageous.
- Admission to the Bar Council and valid license to practice law.
- 1 year of experience in civil litigation, with a specific focus on cases under the NI Act, summary suits, and relevant tribunals such as DRT, RERA, and NCLT.
- Proven track record of drafting notices, writ petitions, appeals, and 138 complaints, showcasing excellent legal writing and research skills.
- Extensive experience in independently handling civil litigation matters in city civil courts, high courts, and tribunals, with a strong ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Sound knowledge of civil litigation procedures, court rules, and legal practices in India, particularly in the areas of the NI Act, summary suits, and relevant tribunals.
- Demonstrated ability to appear in court and tribunals, confidently advocate for clients, and effectively present legal arguments.
- Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, case management software, and other relevant technology.
