Faculty responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching, conducting research, advising students, participating in conferences, and academic administration. A successful applicant is expected to:

- Conducting innovative and impactful research in HCI, with a focus on AR/VR, electronics, and embedded systems: The Assistant Professor will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects in the area of HCI, with a specific focus on AR/VR, electronics, and embedded systems. This will involve identifying research questions related to the integration of these technologies into interactive systems, developing research methodologies that incorporate these technologies, collecting and analyzing data from these systems, and disseminating research findings through academic publications, presentations, and collaborations with industry partners.
- Mentoring and advising students in HCI, with a focus on AR/VR, electronics, and embedded systems: The Assistant Professor will be responsible for mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students in HCI, with a specific focus on AR/VR, electronics, and embedded systems. This will involve providing guidance on research projects that use these technologies, career development opportunities in this field, and professional networking with experts in these areas.
- Participating in academic and administrative activities of the department: The Assistant Professor will be expected to participate in various academic and administrative activities of the department, such as attending meetings, serving on committees, and contributing to the development of the curriculum and research agenda of the department.
- Engaging with industry and other external partners to promote research and innovation: The Assistant Professor will be responsible for engaging with industry and other external partners to promote research and innovation in the area of HCI. This may involve collaborating with industry partners on research projects, participating in conferences and workshops, and promoting the work of the department to external audiences.

**Qualifications**:

- A Ph.D. (awarded or nearing submission) in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise and research experience in HCI
- Strong teaching skills and a commitment to excellence in education
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Evidence of scholarly achievement, including publications and grants
