ExcelHer Program - A second career for Women (Mechanical / Powertrain Engineering)

**About ExcelHer program**:
We are pleased to launch the ExcelHer program - the career returnship program at Volvo Group in India. The program is aimed for women who have been on a career break for a year or more. Volvo Group India takes this step towards empowering women by helping them to relaunch their professional journey after an absence from the workplace due to personal commitments. We have identified exciting work assignments which you can refer to in the list below.

The assignments are for a tenure of nine months (Full Time/Part Time - 9 Hrs/4.5 Hrs). Participants of the program will have access to professional development programs, mentoring assistance by a business leader, as well as the experience of working with people from different functions, technologies and culture.

Brief on areas of work / assignments & Responsibilities
- During your internship, you will be responsible for design & development of components for trucks meeting the system requirements. In your work, there will be frequent contacts with other departments within Volvo.
- Design of components will be related to Coolant Pipes & Hoses, Cooling system, Sheet metal, Casting brackets.
- You will have your own fields of responsibilities while working with cross functional team & engineers in other teams. You will also have to interface with other stake holders such as Manufacturing, Purchasing and Aftermarket.
- There will be opportunity to work with start cost (New product development) projects and Maintenance projects.
- You might also need to support global delegations and support the global teams. The work will be in in a global setup and with cross functional teams, which will have good opportunities for personal development within this position.

Qualification and skills
- Bachelors in Mechanical, automotive Engineering with strong fundamentals, analytical skills
- Experience in handling new product development and maintenance projects. General awareness of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance are required for this role.
- Knowledge & preferred experience in the Vehicle system/components.
- Knowledge in Fluid dynamics & Thermal
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft office tools.
- Knowledge of Creo routing & Creo Piping, handling large assemblies in Creo Parametric and PDM tool will be a plus.
