Assess cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, renal and peripheral vascular status.
- Documents findings and reports abnormal or out of range results to physician
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in use of medications including emergency drugs, moderate sedate and reversal agents
- Documents patient outcomes pre, intra and post procedure
- Positions patient appropriately on table for different procedures
- Evaluate and ensure procedure positioning & maintains optimal skin protection for skin integrity
- Prepares room appropriately for procedure
- Select appropriate equipment for procedure
- Pre-procedure preparation of product and equipment
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency to perform Cath Lab Procedures
- Recognize and implement nursing intervention for contrast reaction
- Demonstrates appropriate precaution for risk (Air embolization, catheter rupture, over volume injection, electrical leakage)
- Identifies cardiac rhythms and abnormal ranges and appropriate intervention
- Identifies normal procedure waveforms in pressure monitoring
- Demonstrates competency with sedation analgesia
- Interprets patient data and hemodynamic responses during pre, intra and post cath.
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery / Bachelor of Science - Nursing.
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in Karnataka State [should possess valid Karnataka Nursing Council Number]
- Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures affecting Registered Nursing practice.
- Demonstrated ability to accept accountability and responsibility for own actions within Registered Nurses scope of practice and works within the MH Framework Competency Standards for a Registered Nurse.
- Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice and its contribution to changing practice and policies within the organization.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensures that the quality of care provided to patients is safe, efficient, effective, accessible, and timely and consumer focused.
- Demonstrates competence, confidence and accountability in the safe delivery of patient care.
- Minimum 3 year of experience as Cath Lab Staff Nurse in NABH recognized Hospital.
- Knowledge of emergency hospital procedures, critical care unit infection control and hygiene policies.
- Hands-on experience in caring for surgical patients.
- Proven ability to multitask and work calmly but efficiently in sensitive environment.

**Organizational Skills**: Nurses will face multiple patients, with differing needs, stages of health and risks. Being organized and knowing how to prioritize will be helpful.

**Focused under Pressure**: Nurses might face emergency, life-or-death situations. Being able to function in the heat of emergency will be necessary.

**Patience**: Giving care under stressful circumstances requires patience.

**Communication Skills**: Nurses might communicate directly with patients who are scared, in pain or in shock. Families will have questions and want answers. Nurses need to be a patient listener and good communicator to help keep everyone calm and help them understand the situation.
