**Description**

**Key Roles & Responsibilities**
- Ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
- Liaising with Technical superintendent’s and vessel Masters with reference to Certification.
- Liaising with the personnel department regarding aspects of Travel, crew changes and other personnel issues in conjunction with the Vessel Master. Monitor crew overlap days.
- Monitor crew compliance with STCW 95 ( as amended), MLC and other training requirements.
- Ensure that Vessels Planned Maintenance System (Deck dept), is being operated and reported in the manner prescribed in the Companies SMS system and is in compliance with ISM code and MLC 2006.
- Ensuring that all Mandatory procedures i.e Tool box talks, Risk assessments, permits to work system s are used effectively and filed for audit purpose.
- Ensure that vessels carry required publications, procedures, operational manuals, and other documents required by the flag state and other regulatory bodies, and that these are updated as required.
- Ensure that vessel is prepared to carry cargo as per requirement of charterers and regulatory bodies.
- Actively promoting safety awareness among all Company Personnel.
- Visit to locations for Taking over new Build vessels or Inspections of vessels as required by the Management.
- Assisting in internal, navigational and external audits/ inspections of vessels including oil major vetting inspection
- Ensure operations/work processes occur in accordance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and any other standards and requirements to which compliance is required
- Ensure the health and safety of all employees and the protection of the environment for all sites/work premises under their control.

**Qualifications**

**Qualification/Experiences/Skills**
1. Unlimited Master Mariner’s license in compliance with STCW II/2;
2. Auditor qualification for ISM/ISPS accreditation framework from a recognized institution.
3. DPA/ CSO course certification

**Professional Experience**

Minimum 8-10 Years of Experience; 1 years shore experience as Marine Superintendent, managing oil tankers. Chemical/ Gas tanker experience preferable.

**Computer Skills**

Proficient in Microsoft systems and electronic management systems and being able to maintain a database.

**Language Skills**

Business fluent English (both written and spoken)

**Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge**
Good knowledge of vessel operations, administration and inspection activities
Good knowledge of Integrated Management Systems, IMO and SOLAS regulations.
