**I. JOB DETAILS**

**II. JOB PURPOSE**

To provide nursing professional development and education services by assisting nurses in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them.

**III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensuring educational activities are congruent with the ANTHC’s mission, goals, values, priorities, and resources.
- Providing an appropriate climate for learning, and facilitate the adult learning process by developing, planning, and presenting educational activities and directly or indirectly fostering the development of competence in the nursing staff.
- Assisting learners to identify both their learning needs and the effective learning activities required to meet those needs while fostering a positive attitude about the benefits and opportunities of life-long learning.
- Identifying changes that should be made in nursing practice using an evidence-based approach and facilitating the initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.
- Acting as both a formal and informal consultant, assisting with the integration of new learning into nursing practice and serving as a resource by assisting nurses in identifying problems, identifying available internal and external educational resources, and selecting educational options.
- Modeling behaviors that reflect affiliations with professional organizations as well as the community.
- Maintaining clinical competence in their area of specialty.
- Integrating ethical principles in to all aspects of practice.
- Providing ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the educational activities to ensure that they maintain and enhance professional development that promotes the delivery of cost-effective high quality healthcare.
