The Medical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing both strategic and day-to-day operations of the entire hospital, ensuring comprehensive staffing across all departments. The role involves liaising with and supervising clinical departments and medical/non-medical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services within a patient safety environment. Accountability for Profit and Loss (P&L) is a key aspect of this position.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage strategic and day-to-day operations, ensuring full and comprehensive staffing in all hospital departments.
- Supervise clinical departments and medical/non-medical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services within a patient safety environment.
- Ensure facility support for hospital clinical work, including sound financial investments, adequate staffing patterns, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Implement and facilitate communication channels within the staff to ensure harmonious teamwork and delivery of high-quality medical services.
- Oversee delivery of quality primary and secondary health care, including clinical practices, supervision of clinical activities, and promotion of a learning culture.
- Lead needs assessments, clinical studies, and surveys, ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
- Develop strategies for timely and professional referral of cases beyond the hospital's capacity; monitor service quality and investigate incidents and complaints.
- Collaborate with heads of departments to formulate, implement, and review internal SOPs and treatment protocols.
- Hold final authority for quantifying pharmaceutical needs and ordering medical drugs and consumables within the approved budget.
- Manage relationships and communication with health authorities and local/international bodies; ensure timely and detailed reporting tied to donor contracts and MOUs.
- Promote data utilization within the facility for informed decision-making in patient care, financial management, and clinical outcomes.
- Provide strategic leadership, ensuring alignment of operational plans with the hospital's strategic plan and budget.
- Supervise senior hospital management team activities, addressing patient and staff concerns, and proactively managing departmental efficiency.
- Organize capacity-building sessions for medical officers through mentoring, coaching, in-service trainings, and CME.
- Lead personnel recruitment, selection, appraisals, and performance reviews; ensure licensing compliance for medical staff.
- Manage employees, establish clear goals and accountabilities, and produce systematic performance indicator reporting.
- Chair meetings with hospital clinical staff and ensure periodic CME for staff.
- Promote a culture of good stewardship, accountability, and transparency at all levels of hospital operations.
- Facilitate sustainability through the development of public/private partnerships and collaboration with development partners, research institutions, and learning institutions.
- Ensure compliance with government, organization, and partner contract policies, rules, and regulations.
- This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong blend of clinical and managerial expertise, capable of leading and fostering a culture of excellence in healthcare delivery.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
