Introduction:
The overall purpose of the role for a Senior Data Scientist within a bank, particularly in the context of end-to-end delivery of data science projects, would encompass the following key points:

- Lead the development and execution of advanced data analytics and machine learning models to drive strategic business decisions and outcomes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and objectives, translating these into data-driven solutions that align with the bank's goals.
- Manage the full lifecycle of data science projects, from initial scoping and data collection to model development, validation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable analytical solutions that can be integrated into the bank's operations and decision-making processes.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and skill development among the data science team and other colleagues.
- Contribute to the bank's data strategy by identifying opportunities for leveraging data assets, improving data quality, and enhancing data governance practices.

What will you be doing?
- Collaborating with business teams to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision-making.
- Building algorithms and designing experiments to merge, manage, interrogate, and extract data to supply tailored reports to colleagues or systems.
- Leading project teams for the end-to-end delivery of data science models.
- Using Machine Learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems.
- Assessing the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improving data collection methods.
- Horizon scanning to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques, and methods.
- Identifying opportunities to use insights/datasets/code/models across other functions in the organisation.
- Contributing to the overall data science strategy of the Private Bank Wealth Management (PBWM) organisation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the team.

What we’re looking for:

- Advanced coding proficiency in Python, with the ability to design, test, and correct complex scripts.
- Experience deploying a machine learning model into a production environment.
- Prior experience in a data science role, indicating a strong foundation in the field.
- Proficiency in SQL, for managing and manipulating data.
- Working in an Agile manner and leading Agile teams using Jira.
- Excellent modelling skills, as evidenced by an advanced degree or significant experience.

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Strong quantitative and statistical skills, enabling logical and methodical problem-solving.
- Good understanding and experience of big data technologies and the underlying big data approach.
- Good interpersonal skills for maintaining relationships with multiple business areas, including senior leadership and compliance.
- Ability to manage laterally and upwards across multiple discipline technical areas.
- Version control using Bitbucket, Github etc.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
