**About Client**:This opening is for one of India’s leading wire and cable manufacturer used for the transmission and distribution of electricity. They manufacture and export wires, cables, and conductors that conform to multiple international standards.

**Job Summary**: The Division Incharge will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the power distribution and/or smart metering division. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of services, maintenance of infrastructure, implementation of smart metering solutions, and achievement of organizational goals. This includes managing teams, coordinating with different stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving operational excellence within the division.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Operations Management**:

- Oversee the distribution network, including substations, transformers, feeders, and metering systems.
- Ensure the efficient deployment, operation, and maintenance of smart metering systems and related infrastructure.
- Supervise power distribution operations and coordinate with field teams for repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Monitor system performance and manage daily power distribution and smart metering operations.
- Implement efficient operational workflows to minimize downtime, outages, and other disruptions.

2. **Project Execution & Coordination**:

- Lead and manage smart metering projects from planning, design, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols during project execution.
- Drive the adoption of smart grid technologies and data management systems for enhanced operational efficiency.

3. **Team Management**:

- Manage and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff working within the division.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the team to improve skillsets and performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure high standards of service and productivity.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure clear communication within teams and with other departments.

4. **Compliance & Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including local, regional, and national standards for power distribution and metering.
- Implement and maintain safety standards for electrical work and smart metering installations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
- Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and ensure the division adheres to best practices.

5. **Customer & Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including customers, government bodies, vendors, and contractors.
- Address customer complaints, service requests, and outages in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide updates and reports to senior management on operational performance, key issues, and improvement plans.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote the benefits of smart metering and other advanced technologies.

6. **Budgeting & Financial Oversight**:

- Prepare and manage the division’s budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively for operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
- Monitor costs and optimize resource utilization to stay within budget constraints.
- Support procurement processes for materials, equipment, and services required for power distribution and smart metering operations.

7. **Performance Monitoring & Reporting**:

- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to power distribution reliability, smart metering data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports on division performance, project status, and operational issues to senior management.
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements for service delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the power distribution or smart metering sector.

**Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, smart metering technology, and related infrastructure.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in troubleshooting electrical systems and metering issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and relevant engineering tools.
