Pediatric Physiotherapist

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough assessments of a child's physical abilities, including motor skills, coordination, balance, and strength.
- Use specialized tools and techniques to evaluate the impact of conditions such as cerebral palsy, developmental delays, genetic disorders, and injuries.
2. Treatment Planning:
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and the specific needs of each child.
- Set measurable goals to improve mobility, function, and independence.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to create a comprehensive treatment approach.
3. Therapeutic Interventions:
- Administer physical therapy interventions that may include exercises, stretches, manual therapy, and the use of assistive devices.
- Provide age-appropriate activities to enhance motor skills, coordination, and overall physical development.
4. Patient and Family Education:
- Educate patients and their families about the child's condition, treatment plan, and home exercises.
- Offer guidance on adaptive equipment and techniques to promote independence.
5. Monitoring Progress:
- Regularly assess and reassess a child's progress toward established goals.
- Modify treatment plans as needed to address evolving needs and challenges.
6. Documentation:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards for documentation.
7. Collaboration:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and share insights into a child's progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
8. Professional Development:
- Stay informed about advancements in pediatric physiotherapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
- State licensure as a physical therapist.
- Specialized training or experience in pediatric physiotherapy.
