FutureWorks Media is currently looking for an FX TD/Houdini Artists to join our growing VFX team to work on upcoming features and episodic.

We require someone who is an expert in Houdini & is able to work in a fast-paced environment to deliver an extremely high level of work.

Expert in simulation of naturalistic physical or magical phenomena such as fire, water, clouds, smoke, physical destruction and particulate. This role requires trouble shooting skills to be able to solve technical and artistic issues while meeting client requirements and production deadlines.

**Responsibilities**:
In-depth knowledge of FX techniques, workflow and software (Houdini)
Excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues
Creating particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur and/or hair simulations or animations
Working in partnership with other departments to ensure that shots are delivered to the highest possible standard
Working within the team to determine the various design solutions needed to create the effects
Designing and creating images, elements, effects, pipelines, tools and techniques
Helping to design solutions involving a more procedural approach in order to create the effects required
Producing reviewable composites of all FX elements for a shot. Sometimes FX artist will be expected to produce final renders too
Working knowledge in scripting and programming in Python, MEL and VEX is important.
Experience in Maya and Nuke is a plus.

**Essential Skills**:
Minimum 3 years of live action visual effects experience creating a wide variety of realistic effects like destruction, smoke, fire, and water
Able to build systems that can create complex FX yet simple, intuitive, and easy to control
Demonstrated knowledge of Houdini
Demonstrated knowledge of Python, The Houdini Object Model (HOM), and VEX
Knowledge of one or more renderer commonly used in production such as Vray, Arnold, Prman, and Mantra

**Desirable Skills**:
A good understanding of animation and an eye for motion
A good understanding of the entire visual effects process
A familiarity with pipeline issues, especially working between multiple packages
Programming skills with C/C++ along with knowledge of the Houdini HDK and/or Maya API
Experience with other render packages
