Job Responsibilities

**Job Purpose**:
The position exists to maintain and create a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures which are within the corporate guidelines.

**Job Description**:

- Participate in budget planning and discuss safety committee points, current security measures, plans for any large function, Medallia feedbacks, etc. in monthly meetings.
- Interact with contract agencies for drafting and renewal of contract. Coordinate with HR & Finance for the same. Give recommendations for the selection of an agency. Conduct goal setting and appraise performance of new recruits and ensure adequate training for them.
- Form crisis management teams for responding to bomb/terrorist threats, earthquake/floods or any other emergency situations as per procedure, develop procedures for evacuation of associates and guests; Inform and coordinate with relevant local authorities - police, doctors etc. for arranging additional security during situations involving conflict.
- Conduct fire safety & awareness training for employees as per the training calendar. Coordinate with engineering for installation or repair work of the fire equipment, including testing. Conduct fire drills & mock evacuation for employees. Prepare detailed evacuation plan based on guidelines given by corporate for the designated safety area, route to be taken etc. Liaise with the firefighting authorities regularly.
- Identify locations for placement of cameras, guards, scanners, illumination etc. Conduct random inspection at the entry & exit points to check for appropriate documentation & compliance to security guidelines. Supervise activities on the main porch, valet parking, bomb check of cars etc.
- Plan for any VIP arrivals or large functions in terms of placement of manpower & equipment. Give directions to subordinates for the same. Conduct inspection to check compliance with the same. Coordinate with consulates and advanced security teams and run through various VIP routes and emergency procedures. Liaise with local police and protection authorities to maintain smooth operations during VIP events.
- Conduct random checking to ensure the user IDs and passwords are not misused & the same are deleted for any staff that has moved out of the hotel. Ensure compliance to key control measures.
- Interact with guests and staff to investigate claims of theft and loss, investigate on the basis of known information, gather clues and check on electronic surveillance whenever required.
- Based on corporate guidelines and SOPs, identify and suggest improvements or issues specific to the unit to corporate. Suggest upgrades of equipment based on environment scanning and best practices. Conduct training to ensure all employees are aware of the security policy and guidelines.
- In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given by the management within the scope of job.
- Adherence to the Tata code of conduct, safety policies and values of the organization as defined.

**Major Areas of Responsibility**:

- Conducts frequent front and back of house checks ensuring the procedures, standards and manning levels are in order and takes appropriate action where necessary.
- Establish control procedures in all operation aspects in accordance with hotel’s policy. Implement and enforces safety regulations and house rules.
- Investigate cases happened in the hotel. If there is a criminal cases, he/she must assist Police to do investigation work.
- Monitor updation of the security logbook on incidents, complaints, accidents, etc. on regular basis.
- Regularly review all legal compliances and renew licenses as and when required.

Job Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of modern surveillance & vigilance techniques, equipment and systems.
- Working knowledge of all hotel operational areas.
- Knowledge of fire safety measures, firefighting, equipment and alarm systems.
- Trained in armed and unarmed combat/martial art.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
