**CMHS Post-Doctoral Fellow**

The Centre for Management of Healthcare Services (CMHS) is one of the oldest centres at the

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). The Centre was set up in June 2004 in

recognition of IIMA’s contributions to the health sector in the past and the need to strengthen the

management of the health sector in the context of the socio-economic developments of our

country. The overall objectives of CMHS are to address the managerial challenges in the delivery

of health services to respond to the needs of different segments of our population efficiently and

effectively, to build institutions of excellence in the health sector, and to influence health policies

and wider environments.

**Job profile**: The Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) will conduct original research with one or more

faculty members and is expected to independently carry out research on topics/themes that are

aligned with the Centre’s vision with the mentorship of CMHS faculty. The Fellow is also

expected to publish high-quality peer-reviewed journal articles out of research conducted at

CMHS, and present work at national and international conferences. In addition to the fellowship

stipend, CMHS would provide the necessary support for carrying out and presenting research,

including funding for data collection, fieldwork-related travel, conference visits, etc. as per

Institute policy.

**Required qualifications**: PhD from a reputed Institute or University in India or abroad,

specializing in Management, Public Health or related Social Science disciplines like Economics

and Sociology. The dissertation/thesis must be on a topic/theme related to healthcare. Publications

the PhD degree certificate at the time of joining the institute.

**Remuneration**: The Post-Doctoral Fellow at CMHS would be paid a consolidated pay plus

medical facilities for spouse and children at the Institute’s Dispensary. Fellows are eligible for

office space and desktop computer. However, the Institute would not provide accommodation.

**Tenure**: This position is initially for a one-year term, with provision for renewal up to two years

depending on performance.
