**The role**

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between finance and the business operations.

This position is accountable for delivering strategic insights, detailed analysis, and impactful commentary to Business and Functional Unit heads.

You will be responsible for assessing monthly performance against targets, actively participating in budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing ad hoc commercial support through activities such as costing and pricing models. Additionally, this role will contribute to acquisition and partnerships support, ensuring financial alignment with organisational goals.

This role will be crucial in driving financial success and strategic decision-making at the heart of our business. You will be a key contributor to the growth and profitability of QS through insightful financial guidance and support.

**Role responsibilities**:
**Performance Analysis**
- Provide insightful analysis and commentary on monthly financial performance against targets, collaborating closely with Group Finance Reporting teams.
- Provide forward view projections based on interpretation of financial results, and how these vary from targets.
- Work with Business Leadership Team to identify and develop clear understanding of key drivers impacting financial results, provide analysis and insights and recommend corrective actions, where applicable, to support business growth and strategic objectives.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**
- Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting processes for the relevant business areas, ensuring alignment with overall organisational objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop accurate and actionable financial plans.
- Engage in scenario planning and financial modelling to support the business in addressing various challenges/ opportunities and what ifs analysis.
- Support investment case preparation process and approval. Lead financial evaluation of existing investment case.

**Commercial Support**
- Develop, maintain and adapt costing and pricing models to assist in strategic decision-making. This includes incentive schemes for third party agents or partners. Actively engage with business in pricing decisions in tender exercises.
- Collaborate with legal and business to execute robust governance in the end-to-end customer/ agent/ partner contractual process including guarding/deciding on all terms and conditions with financial/ tax implications.
- Prepare and monitor profitability (by customer, product/ channel, business unit) and provide insights/ recommendations to management team.

**Acquisition, Divestment, Partnerships and Special Projects**
- Lead financial evaluation/ due diligence of such projects, supporting the Head of FP&A / CFO in deal structuring/ new business model.
- Collaborate with the broader finance/ business team on post-acquisition integration processes or implementation of new business models.

**Others**
- Support Group Finance Reporting teams to provide input during annual audit including meeting with auditors where necessary.
- Collaborate with wider team inside and outside Finance to identify and implement changes aimed at delivering efficiency and accuracy, improved controls and enhanced insights.
- Be a trusted and respected source of advice and insight to business partners, while always maintaining financial objectivity and challenge in this role.
- Any other additional duties as required.
