Night Caretaker

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Give support and care to the residents whilst maintaining their rights to independence, privacy, dignity and choice
- Create a care plan for each resident with the help of Day care coordinator.
- Assist residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities including the use and care of aids and personal equipment if required.
- Guide and monitor residents who need help with personal hygiene.
- Administer medication (once trained) as required.
- Assist in the care of residents who are unwell.
- Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Day Care Coordinator and with due regard to residents’ privacy and dignity.
- Monitor the needs of the residents, informing a senior member of staff on duty or the sleep-in/on-call officer of any emergency situation or concern about their well-being.
- Answer calls, emergency bells and the door. Greet and attend visitors.
- Be aware of residents whereabouts if absent from their bedroom/premises for any reason.
- Carry out regular checks on the building with special reference to fire prevention at intervals determined by the Day Care Coordinator. Ensure that the center is secure, all doors closed and external doors and windows locked and machineries are switched off during night.
- Ensure that the residents change beds, keep their rooms neat and tidy, do basic cleaning of the rooms and bathroom/toilets they use.
- Inspect and mend residents’ clothes where necessary.
- Ensure that the center meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ensure that the residents are eating their breakfast and dinner at a scheduled time.
- Receive, record and communicate information and messages in accordance with the center’s protocols.
- Maintain all residents’ records and give and receive written / verbal reports, whilst ensuring confidentiality
- Take part in staff and residents meetings and also in training activities as required.
- Conduct basic life skills sessions twice a week.
- Attend and participate in regular formal supervision and appraisal sessions
- Be aware of and adhere to Kshamata’s policies and procedures.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above; the night care taker is required to perform other duties assigned by the manager from time to time.

Pay: ₹9,885.42 - ₹23,871.45 per month
