**The Team**:Morningstar's Finance team is responsible for planning, forecasting, and analyzing the company's financial results. The team works collaboratively with our business groups to support them with timely and insightful information to make informed business decisions.

**The Role**:This is a staff accountant role that will work within the Revenue and Receivables team and will report to the Finance Shared Service Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our internal global teams to process sales contracts and record the related revenue. You will work collaboratively with multiple departments and legal entities to understand, assess, and improve revenue and receivable processes. The initial concentration of work would be focused on US based contracts but would expand to global operations over time.

**Responsibilities**
- Review contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with the Company’s policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Work closely with various departments, such as Legal, Sales and support the revenue team by researching and analyzing revenue recognition issues, identifying key risk areas, contemplating alternatives and providing recommendations.
- Assist with contract negotiation by participating in discussions, reviewing draft contracts and providing recommendations.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams formed to address business process improvements in the revenue and receivable area.
- Support and maintain strong internal controls for our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process.

**Requirements**:

- Three to five years of experience in an accountant or related position.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work in a team-environment, and assume additional responsibilities over time.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Detailed oriented with a passion for ensuring accuracy.
- Familiarity on EMEA countries VAT and Cross border contract implications.
- Critical-thinking and willingness to pro-actively surface areas of improvement.
- Good Writing and Verbal Communication skill.
