**QUALIFICATION**:

- Any Bachelor Degree + EEG Technician Course

**EXPERIENCE**:

- 1 - 2 years
- Hospital / Clinic experience preferred

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**EEG**:

- To receive patients and record details concerning the patient, which includes name, age, sex, diagnosis and previous history.
- Determine patient’s needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians
- Positioning and preparing the patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific reading as requested by physician.
- To clean the scalp before the recording is started, cleaning the points where the electrodes are to be placed
- To start the recording of EEG with special test procedures with polygraphic studies
- To disconnect all equipment from patient pertaining to the test procedure

**EMG**:

- To prepare the patient for the EMG and operate the recording parameters.
- To perform the evoked potentials study or Nerve conduction study pertaining to the sensory, visual or auditory systems.
- To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives
- To be aware of departments performance and objective
- To carryout data collection/support in data collection
- To adhere the safety norms of hospital and follow both patient safety and staff safety rules
- To perform any job / task as and when assigned by the superior

**NCV**:

- Perform Nerve Conduction studies on both common and uncommon nerves
- Recognizes and troubleshoots physiological and non-physiological artifact and technical issues, while recognizing normal and abnormal results to take reasonable steps to obtain the best study on the patient

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and use equipment and supplies needed to perform the EEG and EMG tests
- Process the procedure with aided computer-generated methods
- Assure that required equipment are present and in working order, requisitioning materials as necessary
- Maintain records of patients examined, examinations performed, views taken and technical factors used
- Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctioning to the biomedical team
- Coordinate work of other technicians or technologists when procedures require more than one person
- Maintain a handbook of examination protocols
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
- Any other work/responsibility assigned by the HOD/Management in the course of business / work whether within the same unit/dept or any other unit/dept from time to time
