**Job Summary**

Responsible for the oversight of Procurement processes, researching issues and providing analysis and departmental metrics. Independently performs a wide range of procurement duties. Assists with day to day procurement process and ensures the accuracy of the procurement process. Responsible for training new staff members. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of procurement processes and ensuring all discrepancies are addressed and resolved in a timely manager. Represents Procurement at key meetings with the business and assists in highly critical and complex tasks within the procurement organization. Serves as the initial escalation for Procurement Specialists and Analysts. Reports on optimal cost, value, timely delivery, quality of goods and or services delivered by vendor to the organization. Develops, deploys, and ensures that all applicable Policies and Procedures are followed on behalf of Syneos Health.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates procurement processes such as critical review of the finalization of the Vendor contracts, and oversight of approaches to managed performance of vendors to mitigate risk.
- Directs maintenance and/or maintains accurate record and files related to procurement. Trains, directs and reviews the work of support staff to ensure compliance with company’s policies and procedures. Serves as the first line of escalation to Procurement Specialists and Analysts.
- Complies and Evaluates requests across multiple categories and vendors to develop common approaches and techniques as required by the Business, Project, and/or Customer.
- Provides functional guidance and trains applicable project team or business owner aware of statuses or pending issues. Prepares and maintains correspondence such as minutes, reports, etc. as necessary.
- Develops and deploys applicable company guidelines and ensures appropriate corrections are completed and documented in a timely manner.
- Participates in face-to-face or teleconferences with Vendor and/or business owner meetings as a delegate of the Procurement Process Owner.
- Performs required audits and procedural reviews on behalf of Global Procurement for adherence to Company Procurement Policies and Practices. Participates, as necessary, when delegated in Customer Audits and provides technical support on processes.
- Educates internal and external business owners, vendors and customers on the company’s procurement department and the applicable procurement needs such as Vendor Qualification, management, purchasing and contracting. Assists business owners and project members on vendor selection and develops processes to maintain vendor information internally within vendor database, ERP systems filing, etc.
- Assists in coordination with vendors and internal departments such as Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable to resolve repetitive or procedural obstacles.
- Plans, organizes, and directs complex procurement activities that may arise within the Global Procurement Department.
- Coordinate with other departments with in Vendor management group such as qualification, sourcing and vendor onboarding groups to gain efficiencies.

**Qualifications**

**What we’re looking for**
- BS/BA/BCOM degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field plus experience working in Procurement / Purchase space at multi-million companies, preferably within a CRO or service industry.
