As Designer, your responsibilities will entail:
1. Generating sample designs and detail drawings using computer-aided design (CAD), card models, sketches, Inventor, Solid Works and Photoshop
2. Liaising with sales, marketing and buyers to understand, explain the design intent and prepare detailed final designs
3. Liaising with craftsmen or production department staff - such as production managers, marketing staff and design engineers - about the process of construction or manufacture to develop samples
4. Selecting suitable materials - wood, metal, plastic, têxtiles, resin etc to meet design intent
5. Evaluating issues such as pricing and fixing costs, fashion, purchasing, safety, materials and manufacturing methods and techniques

1. Should be studying, researching and planning various styles of furniture design
2. Finding ways to improve furniture items already manufactured - in terms of material consumption, ease of manufacturing, cost and time reduction
3. Staying informed about design trends and developments
4. Should be hands-on with documentation and MIS
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English and Hindi

**Desired skill-set -** CAD, Photoshop, 3D softwares, MS Office - Excel, Powerpoint, Word

**Work location -** Lalru, District Mohali (between Ambala and Chandigarh cities)

From time to time, our detail to quality, design and manufacturing capability has been recognized and awarded in India as well as at various international forums - Awards. It's noteworthy that Knock on Wood bagged the Best Design and Display Award on it's maiden display at the EPCH, New Delhi show.

Our very talented team is led by Aarti Aggarwal, Founder and Principal Designer, Knock on Wood. Aarti studied furniture design at the University of Arts, London and Danish Skole of Design, Copenhagen.

Our team comprises of six designers and 45 craftsmen based out of our manufacturing facility at the 40 acre JCBL campus near Chandigarh, where we have access to the most advanced technology and machines, use of ERP systems like Baan and topnotch R&D facility which perhaps only a few furniture manufacturers around the world could have. Our facility and the systems have impressed some of the buyers from Japan, Europe and the US to the extent that they exclusively visited the facility again to spend more time with us.

We also have a design studio/display in South Delhi.
