**Eligibility and essential qualifications**:
1. Master's in Wildlife Science/Environmental Science.

2. At least two years of experience of working on large mammals or ungulates, preferably in high altitude areas.

Role: J&K Mountain Ungulate is responsible for field or on-site implementation of the project in association with the reporting manager and in line with the scientific and technical plan and all administrative and financial requirements of the Project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct all the field surveys related to Hangul in non-PAs and Protected Areas (PAs) as planned for the year.
- Conduct field-based and questionnaire-based surveys related to Markhor in PAs and non-PAs as and when required and instructed by the PH.
- Conduct field-based and questionnaire-based surveys to assess threats to the hangul population in the area.
- Collect hangul fecal samples, store them and carry out preliminary processing of the samples.
- Enter the data recorded in datasheets for hangul work into Excel files and carry out preliminary data analysis for reports and manuscripts.
- Assist in conducting awareness programs for locals and security forces in and around the study area
- Report periodically about work progress, as compiled monthly reports, and communicate to concerned PIs, line manager, and HQ staff.
- Responsible for all field reports, photographic documentation, submission of data sheets, etc. as per the requirements of the PH.
- Responsible for all field-level governmental and partner liaison at appropriate levels and local public relation needs only after due consultation and approval with the PH.
- Responsible for acting as the on-site representative of WTI (at a particular level) and ensuring that the image of WTI as a conservation action organization operating in the field is maintained at all times.
- Responsible for maintenance of all assets of the organization in the area of activity.

1. Experience in socio economic surveys, outreach, communication, and awareness programs.

2. Proficient in using Microsoft Office.

3. Experience in writing reports and research articles.

4. Ability to use basic GIS tools.
