KLDiscovery, a leading global provider of electronic discovery, information governance and data recovery services, is currently seeking a Commercial Counsel to support our corporate business systems across the 1,600-person global company.

The Commercial Lawyer will work closely with the General Counsel to advise on risk, compliance and legal issues for all company entitles within the KLDiscovery group. This role will require commercial acumen and experience of providing commercially focus legal advice to ensure smooth running of our business operations. The Commercial Lawyer will have a particular focus on providing advice for the EMEA and APAC region but will support US operations.

Hybrid work opportunity (partial work on-site, partial remote).

**Responsibilities**
- Working with local management and the business product team on development of new products and services and advising on risk, compliance and legal issues associated with such new products and services.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating various standard and non-standard contracts and related documents in support of business needs and initiatives including client services agreements (SOW’s, Master Services Agreement and Software as a Service agreements), Non-Disclosure Agreement’s, supplier agreements, referral and partnership agreements.
- Developing and enhancing compliance processes and programs to ensure compliance with internal policies, applicable law and regulations, as well as client expectations and commercial commitments.
- Supervising and coordinating work of local external counsel as needed.
- Working with General Counsel in advising regional and executive management of legal, compliance, and risk management issues related to existing and contemplated commercial transactions and initiatives.
- Monitoring legal, legislative and regulatory trends applicable to the business (i.e. data privacy, security and data protection laws) and coordinating with and training the business as needed.
- Reporting matters as required to the Company’s General Counsel.
- Managing litigation.
- Assisting with other legal and compliance projects as requested.
- Occasional travel to other KLD offices will be required.

**Qualifications**
- Must be a qualified lawyer, with post qualified experience in a reputable law firm
- Commercial lawyer with a working knowledge of data privacy, IT law and intellectual property
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- A team player who can interact at all levels of the business
- Languages - fluent in English
