Ensure reliable supply of assigned materials & services at competitive terms and the required level of quality based on a sound procurement strategy for the production sites in India and South Asia. Work closely with all stake holders and ensure high level of service quality. Represent procurement in the country including global, regional and hub initiatives. Ensure compliance to internal and external guidelines & regulations. Develop strong working relationship with key internal stakeholders to support business growth, mitigate risk and reduce costs.

**M**ain** Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities**

**Categories Covered**:Packaging Procurement - HDPE / Metal drums, IBCs, Bottles, Labels, Cartons, Bags, Pallets, Packaging Accessories, etc.**

You will be in contact with an enthusiastic global procurement team and be in touch with suppliers worldwide

**[A] Sourcing**:
Ensure that sound procurement and supply strategies are in place for all managed purchases, tenders & negotiations are conducted in a professional way to achieve optimal terms and to meet the needs of the site. Activities include:

- Being directly responsible for all packaging materials in India. Spend ~ 22 mio Euro
- Conduct negotiations and add value through Source-to-Contract (S2C) process. Prepare and execute bids & negotiations for materials & services and ensure alignment with requisitioners, Supply Chain, EHS, TDS, Legal, etc.
- Work closely with production site, facilitate timely delivery with the right quality & quantity with a smooth Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process
- Build market expertise, understand market developments and trends
- Review, develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure alignment with global and regional strategies

**[B] Supplier Relationship Management**:
Actively manage the portfolio of suppliers, strengthen partnership with key suppliers and continuously manage supplier performance. Activities included but not limited to,
- Establish contacts with the management of key suppliers to acquire information on service offerings, market trends and to enable timely settlement of issues
- Actively monitor supplier landscape, develop new suppliers where applicable, enable them to meet BASF’s requirements, ensure reliable supply at competitive prices and to manage supplier / price risks
- Ensure that suppliers meet the general and country-specific requirements and standards by aligning with requisitioners, EHS, Procurement and other relevant internal and external parties
- Address sustainability topics including supplier assessments / audits and reduce business risk
- Ensure that the performance of key suppliers is regularly monitored and that appropriate measures are implemented for improvements / delisting as applicable
- Manage critical issues and claims with suppliers. Collaborate with stake holders to resolve issues, address root causes and improve customer satisfaction

**[C] Internal Stake holder Management**

Establish a close relationship with relevant internal stake holders to ensure smooth communication and resolution of issues. Included activities:

- Establish regular communication with stake holders, discuss procurement activities, current / future requirements regarding materials and services to identify opportunities, address issues and create competitive advantage for BASF
- Align annual targets, monitor progress and ensure completion of all action items
- Actively seek feedback, address issues with relevant parties and escalate to Category Management, if necessary, to achieve maximum procurement effectiveness and stake holder satisfaction
- Establish a close network with relevant units such as supply chain, production and finance
- Collaborate with Procurement Shared Service Centre for operational areas, efficiencies and other P2P activities

**[D] Country R**epresentation**

Represent procurement in the Country / Hub to ensure close communication, exchange of information / expertise. Included activities:

- Represent interest of the country / sites to procurement community and escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant parties
- Implement global / regional / hub initiatives viz. risk management, internal / external audit, best practice sharing, systems & processes, technological tools, etc.
- Support site buyers in respective categories

**[E] Compliance and Processes Improvements**

Ensure that all procurement activities follow relevant policies & procedures and documented properly to achieve excellent and consistent quality of work, avoid compliance issues and allow for traceability of actions. Included activities:

- Exert functional leadership and governance for all activities related to procurement
- Execute procurement activities in line with policies and procedures (e.g. Procurement Guideline BASF Group, company procedures, BASF Code of Conduct, trade controls, local regulations, etc.)
