Job Overview:
Lummus Technology’s heat transfer group specializes in the design and supply of fired heaters for petrochemical and refining industries. Our services range from conceptual and feasibility studies to turnkey heater projects. We are seeking an Instrument & Control Engineer for our Engineering group. This role will have responsibility for Instrumentation & Control Systems design and analysis for assigned deliverables on Lummus Technology projects. Position will require interfacing with other project team members during project execution and participation in design and progress meetings.

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide specialist input and guidance on all instrumentation and control related activities.
- Evaluate Instrument and Control design basis and detail specifications.
- Participate in P&ID review, HAZOP and SIL meetings.
- Prepare cost estimates, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Analysis, Purchase Requisition for Instruments and PLCs.
- Develop Instrument data sheets, Instrument Index, Point Database, IO Assignment, and Instrumentation MTO.
- Select the most suitable measurement technology, type of instruments and PLC technology.
- Perform instrument calculations including sizing of control valves, safety relief valves and flow orifice, cable sizing, UPS power requirements, Instrument air requirements etc.
- Develop instrument installation/hookup diagrams and Bill of Material.
- Prepare functional schematics, loop diagrams, control narrative, logic diagram, cause & effect diagram.
- Develop instrument cabling documents and diagrams including cable specifications, cable schedules, cable routing & layout, junction box specifications, junction box schedule, instrument air distribution, etc.
- Evaluate supplier quotations for instruments and PLCs.
- Review and approval of instrument supplier documents and drawings including datasheet, sizing calculation, GA drawing, Inspection and Test Plan, test procedures, etc.
- Review and approval of PLC supplier documents and drawings including functional specifications, cabinet drawings, Inspection and Test Plan, test procedures, etc.
- Supervise and monitor supplier progress and quality control.
- Participate in FAT/SAT and provide start-up support at customer site.
- Ensure compliance with the work scope and with applicable international standards.
- Coordinate with customer and supplier for timely closer of technical deviations and clarifications.
- Supervision/ Coordination with Third Party Engineering company for Instrumentation related activities

Basic Requirements:

- 5+ years of industry experience as a instrument & control engineer in Refining or Petrochemicals industry.
- Skilled in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree.
