The Data Scientist role presents an exciting opportunity for experienced data science professionals who aspire to develop and deliver contemporary data science and machine learning products.

The incumbent will perform data analysis, build, and tune machine learning models, and assist in the development and delivery of machine learning products. The role requires a sound understanding of data preparation, feature engineering and model development, the use of contemporary large language models, and model deployment using Python.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Should be self-driven and with a positive, go-getter attitude, with a tendency to take initiative and interest in projects and programs.
- Contemporary data science skillset covering statistical analysis, simple / traditional machine learning models, deep learning models and modern and complex LLMs (breadth)
- A good understanding of the nuts and bolts of statistical inference, data science models and machine learning
- Good intuition about data science and understands the end-to-end lifecycle of how models are built and trained using data, and how models are released to production.
- Good basic understanding of machine learning architectures such as RNNs, LSTMs, transformers, the attention mechanism, etc.
- Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to query and perform table manipulations on SQL databases and similar datasets.
- Familiarity with the analysis of text datasets, and in building ML models for text analytics is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Pytorch, Scikit learn, Apache Spark and Databricks, SpaCy, Lightning, and other libraries used for building and using machine learning models.
- Prior experience working with LLMs such as OpenAI GPT 3.5, LLAMA 2/3 and other LLMs is desirable.
- Prior experience working with frameworks such as Langchain, Llamaindex, Haystack, is desirable.
- Understands common ML metrics such as precision, recall, MSE, F1 score, AUROC, MAP/MAR
- Understands LLM evaluation frameworks and approaches, and metrics such as coherence, groundedness, etc.
- Possesses Python programming skills and can write scripts and code in Jupyter notebooks and work with datasets to develop hypotheses and build models.
- Has the ability to prepare data analyses, perform and report statistical comparisons, and develop, document and communicate the nuances of models, their features, and other details.
- Comfortable with Git, Github and understands CI/CD
- Good team player who can work with team members with different technical and non-technical skill sets such as data scientists, engineers, product managers and architects.
- Good communication skills and able to collaborate with different relevant team members such as data scientists, engineers, and architects.

**EDUCATION**
- BS/MS/PhD in a quantitative or computational field, such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science or machine learning
- About 1 year of experience (for masters’ holders) or 3+ years of experience (for bachelor’s holders) in a relevant area
