Job Title: Restaurant Captain

Location: Hotel Golden Peacock, Haridwar

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Job Summary:
The Restaurant Captain is responsible for leading the restaurant floor, ensuring excellent service, and creating a memorable dining experience for guests. This position oversees the waitstaff, manages reservations, and addresses guest concerns promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service & Hospitality:

- Welcome guests warmly and assist in seating arrangements.
- Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about dishes and beverages.
- Ensure all guests have a positive dining experience and address any concerns quickly.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to manage special requests and dietary preferences.

2. Supervising Staff:

- Lead and motivate waitstaff to deliver high-quality service.
- Assign tables to staff, ensuring optimal guest service and table turnover.
- Train new team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and etiquette.
- Conduct daily briefings with the team, sharing any updates on menu changes or special promotions.

3. Order & Service Coordination:

- Take orders when required and ensure they are accurately communicated to the kitchen.
- Monitor order progress, ensuring timely food and beverage service.
- Inspect food quality and presentation before serving it to guests.

4. Reservation Management:

- Manage table reservations and seating arrangements to maximize occupancy.
- Coordinate with the host/hostess to keep wait times short and ensure an efficient flow of guests.

5. Quality Control & Cleanliness:

- Inspect the dining area, table settings, and general cleanliness before and after each shift.
- Ensure that hygiene and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate as needed.

6. Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including guest feedback, shift reports, and inventory.
- Assist with inventory management of dining room supplies, like silverware, napkins, and glassware.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to plan and execute events or special dining experiences.

Skills & Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in hospitality management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain or in a similar supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, menu items, and restaurant operations.
- Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and stay organized.
