**Must Have**

**CEPH Deployment and Configuration**:

- **Deploy and configure CEPH clusters in the cloud infrastructure environment**, including monitor nodes, OSD (Object Storage Daemon) nodes, and metadata servers.
- **Configure Ceph pools, RADOS (Reliable Autonomic Distributed Object Store) blocks**, and CRUSH maps for optimal storage performance and resilience.

**Storage Virtualization**:

- Implement storage virtualization techniques using Ceph to abstract physical storage resources and provide scalable, distributed storage services.
- Configure RADOS Gateway (RGW) for object storage, CephFS for file storage, and RBD (RADOS Block Device) for block storage.

**Data Protection and Disaster Recovery**:

- Implement data protection mechanisms such as replication, erasure coding, and snapshots to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and procedures for Ceph clusters to minimize data loss and downtime in case of failures or disasters.

**Security and Compliance**:

- Implement security controls and encryption mechanisms to protect stored data from unauthorized access, breaches, and data loss.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy, security, and retention in the telecom domain.

**Performance Monitoring and Optimization**:

- Monitor Ceph cluster performance metrics such as throughput, latency, and IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) to ensure optimal storage performance.
- Optimize Ceph configurations and resource allocation to meet telecom workload requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).

**Telecommunications Network Knowledge**:

- **Understanding of telecommunications network architectures, protocols, and technologies, including IP networking, MPLS, SDN, NFV, and 5G.**:

- Familiarity with telecom-specific use cases and requirements for Software Defined Storage solutions such as Ceph in cloud environments.

**Integration with Telecom Systems**:

- **Integrate Ceph clusters with telecom-specific systems and technologies, such as OSS/BSS** (Operations Support Systems/Business Support Systems), NFV orchestrators, and service assurance platforms.
- **Ensure seamless interoperability between Ceph-based storage infrastructure** and telecom network elements (e.g., routers, switches, base stations).

**Automation and Orchestration**:

- **Develop automation scripts and workflows** to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of Ceph clusters and storage resources.

**Good to have**
- Integrate Ceph with cloud orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes) to automate storage provisioning and data lifecycle management.

**Storage Tiering and Optimization**:

- Implement storage tiering strategies using Ceph's CRUSH map and cache tiering features to optimize cost and performance.
- Define storage policies and automated data placement mechanisms to ensure data is stored on the most suitable storage tier based on access patterns and performance requirements.

**Hybrid Cloud and Multi-Cloud Integration**:

- Integrate Ceph clusters with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments to enable seamless data mobility and ▪interoperability across different cloud platforms.
- Implement data replication and synchronization mechanisms to ensure data consistency and availability across distributed cloud environments.

**Documentation and Knowledge Sharing**:

- Document Ceph configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
- Provide training and support to storage administrators, network engineers, and other stakeholders on Ceph technologies, operations, and maintenance.

**Collaboration and Stakeholder Management**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including storage administrators, network engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to design and operate Ceph-based solutions in telecom environments.
- Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders and business leaders, fostering collaboration and alignment.
