Gastroenterologist

**Description**
- Provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract.
- The Medical Gastroenterologist is a staff member of the Gastroenterology Department.
- His responsibilities are divided between the out-patient GI clinic and Endoscopy Unit and the in-patient service.
- Consultations and admissions, GI procedures (Upper GI and Lower GI endoscopies, Colonoscopies, ERCP etc) and cross consultation duties.
- He works under the professional supervision of the Chief of the Gastroenterology service.
- He is in daily contact with patients, their families, nurses, endoscopy staff (nurses and technicians), Gastroenterologists, Internists, Ward Physicians and Physicians of the Specialty Services and Ambulatory Services.
- During the course of work, he/she will impart training to other junior medical staff and exercise due care in handling all sensitive instruments at his/her disposal.
