Position Overview:
As an R&D Food Technologist specializing in Recipe Formulation, you will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of food products across various categories. Leveraging your expertise in food science and formulation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative, high-quality recipes that meet consumer preferences, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Recipe Development:
- Lead the development of new recipes and formulations for food products, considering factors such as taste, texture, nutritional profile, and shelf stability.
- Conduct research on ingredient functionality, sourcing options, and culinary trends to inform recipe development process.
Ingredient Selection and Evaluation:
- Source and evaluate raw materials and ingredients for quality, functionality, and suitability in recipe formulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to assess ingredient specifications, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
Formulation Optimization:
- Optimize existing recipes and formulations to improve product quality, cost efficiency, and production scalability.
- Conduct trials and experiments to refine ingredient ratios, processing techniques, and sensory attributes.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and food safety regulations in all recipe formulations.
- Work closely with regulatory affairs team to address any compliance issues or concerns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, production, and quality assurance to align recipe development with business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and drive consensus on recipe specifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of recipe formulations, ingredient specifications, and trial results.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging ingredients, and technological advancements in food science.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and innovation in recipe development and formulation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in recipe formulation, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food science principles, ingredient functionality, and recipe development techniques.
- Proficiency in sensory evaluation, quality control, and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and food labeling regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and recipe management software.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹12,237.44 - ₹36,041.73 per month
