**Salary**: INR 65000-75000 per month
**Job Summary**:
We seek a highly skilled Bioinformatics Scientist with a proven track record of 5-8 years in
Genetics, specializing in Cancer Genomics, Personalized Genomics, and
products and driving cutting-edge research within our organization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Product Development: Lead the development of novel bioinformatics products and tools,
aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., research, development, clinical) to ensure
product feasibility and market fit.
Employ advanced bioinformatics techniques to analyse and interpret large-scale genomic
and molecular data.
Develop and optimise algorithms and pipelines for data processing, analysis, and
visualisation.
Validate and benchmark product performance using relevant datasets and metrics.
Research and Innovation: Conduct independent research in areas such as cancer
genomics, personalised medicine, and pharmacogenomics.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics and genomics technologies.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
Collaborate with academic institutions and research organisations to foster knowledge
exchange and innovation.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:Provide guidance and mentorship to junior bioinformatics
scientists and interns.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the team.
Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for bioinformatics analysis.
Qualifications and Skills:Educational Background: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational
Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
Proven Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics research
and development, with a strong focus on cancer genetics, personalised genomics, and
pharmacogenomics.
**Technical Expertise**:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl.
Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software (e.g., SAMtools, GATK, Picard, BEDTools).
Expertise in analysing and interpreting various types of genomic data (e.g., DNA
sequencing, RNA-seq, microarray).
Knowledge of statistical and machine learning methods for data analysis.
**Scientific Knowledge**:
Deep understanding of fundamental biological and genetic concepts.
In-depth knowledge of cancer biology and molecular mechanisms.
Familiarity with personalised medicine and pharmacogenomics principles.
**Product Development Skills**:
Experience in translating research findings into commercial products.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with scientists, engineers, and clinicians.
**Problem-Solving and Innovation**:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to think critically and creatively to address complex challenges.
**Additional Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
Familiarity with data management and warehousing solutions.
Contributions to open-source bioinformatics projects.
