- Carries out an in-depth consultation with each client prior to treatment, ensuring medical conditions, history and concerns are identified to allow the therapist to determine the most appropriate massage treatment plan.
- Discuss and assess any injuries with client to determine whether the sport and exercise participant should continue safely with the event or activity.
- Discuss with client causes and areas of pain, then agree massage treatment to alleviate pain, relieve discomfort and rehabilitate injuries by using massage therapy techniques.
- Where appropriate, advise clients on exercise plans and therapeutic treatments (such as deep tissue, full body or facial massage) to assist in restoring function and mobility.
- Undertake reflexology by massaging pressure points in feet that relate to different zones of the body.
- Prescribes appropriate aftercare to guests, advising on ongoing treatment recommendations including therapeutic treatments (as above) and complimentary therapies such as aromatherapy & reflexology.
- In consultation with client, recommend and administer appropriate aromatic oils, using the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer.
- Maintains linen and product stock levels within the treatment rooms, ensuring all linens are clean and organised as per the Spa standards.
- Follows treatment room opening and closing procedures correctly, reporting any maintenance issues to the Spa Duty Manager.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements set out in Spa Risk Assessments.
- Performs all treatments to an exceptional standard, as per the protocols and standards taught in formal and in-house training, whilst tailoring to the client’s specific needs.
- Updates own knowledge of products and treatment brand standards, outside of formal training by product ranges and Head Therapist/Assistant Spa Manager.
- Protects the guest experience by moving quietly around the treatment room and in corridors.

**GUEST RELATIONS**
- Maintains the highest standard of guest service by following Spa and Forbes standards and protocols and displaying genuine care and attention to detail.
- Consistently records guest preferences, accurately updating guest profiles and communicating any relevant information to colleagues.
- Ensures confidentiality at all times including data protection, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client.
- Report any guest complaints to the Spa Duty Manager so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.
- Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by the Spa Manager on Duty, to contribute to the workflow of the department.

**CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS**
- Polite and courteous
- Friendly and welcoming
- Proficient in operating IT and online systems
- Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service
- Previous experience in a hospitality environment preferred but not essential
- Smart and well presented with a positive attitude
- Must have strong English communications skills - both written and spoken.
- Previous experience of a role within a similar environment is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within the industry is preferred.

**Education**:

- Educated to SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Massage/Sports/Beauty Therapy is required.
