The Programming Language Faculty member is responsible for teaching, research, and academic leadership in the field of programming languages and related disciplines. This role involves developing and delivering courses, conducting scholarly research, mentoring students, and contributing to the overall academic mission of the institution.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and teach courses in programming languages, including introductory courses as well as specialized topics such as functional programming, object-oriented programming, scripting languages, and compiler construction.
- Design course materials, assignments, and assessments that align with learning objectives and engage students in active learning.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, fostering their understanding of programming concepts and supporting their academic and career goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues, graduate students, and external partners on research projects, leveraging expertise in programming language design, implementation, and analysis.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other academic activities to contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and strategic planning.
- Serve as an advisor to students pursuing research projects, internships, or academic interests in programming languages and software engineering.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and update curricula for undergraduate and graduate programs in computer science, software engineering, and related fields, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends.
- Integrate hands-on projects, laboratory exercises, and industry-relevant case studies into course offerings to enhance students' practical skills and prepare them for careers in software development.
- Stay informed about advancements in programming languages, software tools, and development methodologies to inform curriculum decisions and course content updates.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and seminars related to programming languages, software development, and computer science education.
- Contribute to the academic community through peer review activities, conference presentations, and participation in professional organizations relevant to programming languages and software engineering.

**Requirements**:

- A Ph.D. in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in programming languages or compiler construction preferred.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or others, along with knowledge of language design principles, syntax, semantics, and implementation techniques.
- Experience teaching programming courses at the undergraduate or graduate level, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse student populations.
- A record of scholarly research, including publications in reputable journals and conferences, and evidence of successful grant funding or research projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, mentor students, and build relationships with industry partners.
