**Job Summary**: We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Resident Medical Officer to join our prestigious Oncology Department at Universal Cancer Conquest (UCC). In this role, you will work closely with our renowned oncologists and multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and contribute to advancing the field of oncology. **Required skills / Qualification**:
- **Clinical Experience**: Prior experience in clinical settings, particularly in hospitals or healthcare facilities, is preferred. Newly graduated doctors with internship experience will also be considered.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with patients, their families, and colleagues.
- **Critical Thinking**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to assess patients' conditions, make informed decisions, and provide appropriate medical care.
- **Empathy and Compassion**: A compassionate approach towards patient care, empathy, and the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
- **Time Management**: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and handle emergencies effectively.
- **Commitment to Continuous Learning**: The willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, stay updated with medical advancements, and adhere to hospital policies and protocols.
- **Ethical Conduct**: Adherence to medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Patient Care Support**:
- Assist oncologists in patient assessments, examinations, and procedures.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic counseling to cancer patients and their families. This involves providing emotional support, addressing fears and anxieties, and offering guidance throughout the treatment process.
- Proficiently communicate complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner to patients and their families. This includes discussing treatment options, potential side effects, and prognosis in a supportive and respectful manner.
- Facilitate shared decision-making between patients, their families, and the healthcare team. Empower patients to actively participate in their care by providing them with the necessary information and support to make informed decisions about their treatment.
- Conducting psychosocial assessments to identify patients' emotional, social, and practical needs. This includes assessing patients' coping mechanisms, support systems, and any psychosocial stressors that may impact their treatment adherence and overall well-being.
- Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to other healthcare providers or services.
- Assist with the management of patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
**Clinical Assistance**:
- Assist oncologists during treatments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Meticulously capture and maintain detailed clinical histories of cancer patients within the oncology department. This includes recording relevant medical information, such as past medical history, current medications, diagnostic tests, treatment modalities, and progress notes, in UCC system accurately and comprehensively.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to gather pertinent clinical data and document findings in a systematic manner. Ensure that all relevant information, including symptoms, physical examinations, and laboratory results, is documented promptly and accurately to facilitate continuity of care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and completeness of patients' clinical histories.
- Coordinate to prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient consultations and procedures.
