**Dementia Care Worker - JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Place: Ernakulam City**

We are currently looking to recruit a Dementia Care Worker experienced in providing dementia support in geriatric care. This role is suitable for someone with exceptional communication and engagement skills, who is friendly, reliable, and committed to supporting individuals to live full and connected lives

Please note, this is a Day Shift position and a home-based service.

**Dementia Care Worker - Job Responsibilities**
- Maintain a caring, empathetic, and supportive environment in the workplace.
- Proven crisis intervention skills and a good knowledge of geriatric mental health illnesses and social problems are required.
- Good knowledge and experience with geriatric/dementia support services are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.
- Clinical skills to assess signs and symptoms of Dementia are necessary.
- Good problem-solving ability, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Assist with medication management and administration.
- Provide assistance with daily living activities.
- Plan, develop, implement, and facilitate social, recreational, physical, and cognitive activities on a daily basis.
- Provide support to enhance independent living skills.
- Assist with accessing hospital appointments, community events, outings, and leisure activities.
- Help increase the capacity for transportation, personal care, and social interactions.
- Provide support to participants in achieving their objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients and their families.
- Follow procedures, including the collation of data and report writing.
- Keep up-to-date documentation and records of participant interactions and services provided.
- Report any issues or changes in the customer’s health and well-being through the appropriate channels and protocols.
- Uphold and adhere to the organization's policies and procedures.

**Caregiver Qualifications**
- Degree in Social work, Nursing or Psychology

**Employment Type requirements**
- This is a day shift position and a home-based service.
- Must be available locally (in Cochin city) and willing to travel.
- This is a short-term contract position.

**Salary**: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 2-6 months

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
