Offshore Chief Surveyor

Channel Ship Services Limited (CSS Limited) is currently seeking a highly skilled Offshore Chief Surveyor experienced with Sonardyne Systems (Sprint, Fusion, Ranger 2) and 4DNav to join our team. As an Offshore Chief Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing survey operations during offshore projects. You will work closely with the survey team, project managers, and clients to ensure the accurate and precise collection of survey data.

**Responsibilities**:

- Managing and overseeing survey operations during offshore projects.
- Developing and implementing survey plans and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
- Overseeing the deployment and operation of survey equipment, including multibeam sonars, sub-bottom profilers, and positioning systems.
- Collecting, processing, and analyzing survey data using specialized software and tools.
- Reviewing and validating survey data for accuracy and quality.
- Preparing survey reports and documentation.
- Collaborating with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Managing and mentoring the survey team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Keeping up-to-date with advancements in survey technology and techniques.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Surveyor or in a similar role.
- Familiar with Navigation packages such as Qinsy, Navipac but 4D is preferable
- Familiar and able to execute gro & DVL calibration, DGNSS Verifications, USBL calibrations and patch tests
- Familiar with both Sonardyne and Kongsberg USBL systems and INS instrumentation such as Spint Nav, Rovins, Phins etc
- Must have the ability to participate in mobilisations and display strong fault finding and technical skills
- Processing skills in JANUS would be benefical but not essential
- Familiar with Fugro, Veripos GNSS Systems
- Must be willing to participate in some reporting and data QC
