**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Instruction and Curriculum Delivery**:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in accordance with the IBDP Chemistry syllabus.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and promote inquiry-based learning.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including experiments, demonstrations, and technology, to enhance student understanding of Chemistry concepts.
- **Student Assessment and Evaluation**:
- Design and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and laboratory reports, to evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance and laboratory skills.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of student performance and progress.
- **Laboratory Management**:
- Oversee the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Ensure that all laboratory activities are conducted safely and in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Prepare and organize laboratory experiments that align with the IBDP Chemistry curriculum.
- **Academic Support and Guidance**:
- Offer additional support and mentoring to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Address and resolve any academic or behavioral issues promptly and professionally.
- Encourage students to engage in independent research and exploration of Chemistry topics.
- **Professional Development**:
- Stay current with developments in the IBDP Chemistry curriculum and educational best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops and training sessions related to the IBDP.
- **Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department and contribute to school-wide initiatives and meetings.
- **Parental Communication**:
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to help parents support their children's learning.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Chemistry within the IBDP framework is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the IBDP Chemistry syllabus and assessment criteria.
