Staff Nurse

Responsible for the Ward routine, equipment and patients.
Ensures professional handover and takeover of shift.
Coordinates closely with Admissions to plan resource deployment based on occupancy; when expected to be full, to escalate if resources are required.
Understands patient & consultant requirements and plans resource deployment to meet the need.
Ensures efficient staffing, material and equipment availability.
Assigns duty ensuring mix of experience and skill, senior and junior, per shift.
Ensures nurses are competent and can handle tasks assigned to them.
Ensures nurses follow the protocols without exception.
Responsible for the smooth room orientation on admission, stay and discharge of patient and attendants.
Assists clinicians in treating mothers and neonates.
Obtains medical history of the patient and communicates to the consulting physician.
Reviews the doctor’s notes and the drug chart and acts as required
Ensure all investigations are carried out as advised by the doctor; reports available on time for doctor’s perusal and further advice.
Prepares nursing care plans and renders effective bedside nursing care.
Responsible for adherence to the clinical care plan, carefully observes for any adverse reactions, alerts clinician and NS in case of any situations.
Handles emergencies competently & calmly; provides guidance & decisions in a timely manner.
Advises and counsels patients in preventing illnesses affecting childbirth; precautions to be taken; reassures and instils confidence.
Ensures NS is informed of any incidents immediately.
Ensures medication safety and practices patient safety protocols.
Upholds patient rights and maintains confidentiality of patient information: medical and personal; avoids any violation by ensuring no discussion of patient identifiable information in non-secure areas.
Implements the infection control practices.
Implements NABH & Nursing Excellence standards.
Competently handles all equipment used in patient care; ensures team is competent in usage; ensures equipment is serviceable and readily available.
Maintain records, reports and registers as per organizational standards.
Accurately captures data, ensures documentation is complete and correct, tracks Nursing Quality Indicators and reports accurately.
Responsible for Inventory management and cost control; ensures no misuse or wastage.
Coordinates and works closely with LDR, OT, NICU, Pharmacy & Lab.
Co-ordinates with Billing team regarding admissions, discharges and billing activities.
Works closely with clinical services team to ensure efficient care.
- Maintains cordial inter-personal relationship within the team and other departments.

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
