Manipala, India Manipal University Full time

Ph.D. opportunity for medical graduates and post-graduates

Are you a physician interested in pursuing research? Do the clinical challenges motivate you to seek new

knowledge about health and disease and even discover new diseases? Rare genetic diseases present a

unique challenge in healthcare in that a majority of these diseases currently have no known cure and

present a significant burden to the affected patients and their families. The clinical research training

programme (CRTP) for rare diseases, offers research training for physicians with a Ph.D. degree conferred

upon completion. This training enables physicians to become multi-domain experts and rise to the

challenge of bridging the gap between patient care and cutting-edge research in the domain of rare genetic

diseases.

Who can apply?

Post-graduates and graduates in Medical or Dental Sciences (DM/MCh/MD/MS/MBBS or equivalent

qualifications) are eligible.

Background

The program is a part of the core research activity of the Center for Rare Disease Diagnosis, Research and

Training, a virtual center being established by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Institute of

Bioinformatics, Bengaluru and Dr Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, Hyderabad. This activity is funded by

DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance.

Program details:
