**What success looks like in this role**:
Monitor and detect batch jobs for failures
- Start jobs, tasks and scripts manually where automated processes do not exist
- Investigate and report on all jobs, tasks and scripts that end abnormally if operations procedures require
- Restart jobs, tasks and scripts that end abnormally
- Resolve interruptions caused by conditions external to production programs (e.g., disk, tape)
- Maintain job completion records and provide exception reporting
- Respond, troubleshoot, and resolve batch jobs and schedules for in-scope batch environment
- Update knowledge base with known errors/resolutions, technical documentation and procedures
- Monitor and track false and missed monitoring events and alerts to continuously tune monitoring thresholds
- Keep a check on Job Contentions and File Contentions to avoid any delays in batch. Take appropriate action whenever situation arises.
- Keep a check on System Performance. Monitor the performance and fix issues or escalate whenever occurred- Responds to escalated problems in a timely and accurate manner and ensures that Service Level Agreements are met- Capable of addressing all questions regarding the installation, configuration and customization within the areas of domain expertise without reference to others-
- Escalates product issues when unable to resolve them with available tools and skills- Attempts to reproduce reported problems, identify, and provide immediate workarounds to overcome problems.- Documents resolutions to reported problems- Identifies product and documentation deficiencies and makes suggestions for improvement.- May work with clients to define requirements for enhancement requests.- May contribute to the resolution of difficult client situations- May contribute to qualifying and assessing client’s expectations- Develops good skills and levels of expertise on products and solutions being supported- Follow up with clients to perform fixes and to confirm resolutions- Ticket and queue management of Incident- Provides technical, practical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and are consistent with organizational objectives- Frequent internal and external customer contacts- Provide monitoring and first level support to production systems and issues

**You will be successful in this role if you have**:

- Good to have COBOL & Algol programming knowledge.
- Good to have Operating system Administration.
- Working exposure to Incident & problem management (ITIL)
- Experience in MCP/OS2200 skill is a strong plus
- IBM Mainframe or MCP - JCL/WFL skills
