We are seeking a talented freelancer for a **Senior Tableau Consultant **to join our team and play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our Tableau-based data visualization solutions. As a Tableau Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders, data analysts, and software engineers to design, develop, and implement interactive dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights from complex data sets.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports:
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency within Tableau visualizations.
- Optimize performance and enhance the user experience of Tableau dashboards.
- Data integration and manipulation:
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Tableau for analysis and visualization.
- Perform data cleansing and validation to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Create calculated fields, parameters, and data hierarchies to support complex data analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
- Work closely with data analysts, business analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements and design efficient Tableau solutions.
- Collaborate with database administrators and data engineers to optimize data integration processes and ensure scalability.
- Documentation and quality assurance:
- Document data sources, data models, and Tableau workflows.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability of Tableau solutions.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to existing Tableau dashboards and reports.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and principles.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Familiarity with data modelling concepts and data warehousing principles.
- Experience with data integration from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, Excel files).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Tableau Certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Associate).
- Experience with Tableau Prep for data preparation and cleansing.
- Understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
