Structured hybrid role:
Introduction:

- Management of the banks Data Modelling practice including:

- Maintenance of the banks enterprise data model
- Coordinating the curation of data models in partnership with business areas
- Reporting enterprise data model KPIs and metrics, e.g. to track progress
- Promote awareness and understanding of data modelling concepts.

What will you be doing?
- Drive solution architecture and design for enterprise data platforms/data mesh covering shared components, inc. data catalogue, metadata management, data security, data quality and Identification of new common data capabilities.
- Partnering with data engineering teams to select, pilot and design new shared data capability, inc. data security, data science, insights generation components.
- Overseeing and contributing to the production of data solution designs
- Publication of data components as part of the banks technology adoption and product catalogue
- Drive data modelling tooling strategy, inc. integration with bank metadata management solutions
- Overseeing a team of solution and data modelling architects, who will be support key programmes and drive data improvements to the banks data model.
- Partnering with Chief Data Office to integrate data models with the banks critical data element framework, e.g., in support of BCBS239 compliance.
- Partner with data engineering platform leads.
- Design best-in-class data engineering solutions using the enterprise data capability.
- Support key data programmes, inc. enterprise data, digital initiatives, bank-wide analytics and financial crime

What we’re looking for:

- 10+ years of experience leading and growing teams of senior technology customer facing professionals.
- 10+ years' experience design/implementation/consulting experience of data architectures.
- High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and/or external organizations, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
- Ability to speak in public and in front of an audience.
- Technical degree required (or equivalent work experience); Computer Science background highly desired.
- Knowledge of Barclays technology landscape, and Barclays governance and control framework
- Awareness or hands on experience working on Cloud technologies (Public and Private cloud)
- Experience and knowledge of regulatory programmes and Treasury/Investment banking domain will be preferred

- Useful:

- Prior working experience in Banking Sector
- Experience working in the capacity of a Data Modeller or Data Architect at an Enterprise or Function Level
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
