**Job Title: Commis Chef**
**Responsibilities**:
**Food Preparation**:
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Ensure all food items are prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards.
**Cooking Techniques**:
- Execute basic cooking tasks independently.
**Ingredient Preparation**:
- Assist in the cleaning, peeling, chopping, and portioning of ingredients.
- Ensure the availability and freshness of ingredients for daily kitchen operations.
**Station Maintenance**:
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients.
- Follow proper food safety and hygiene practices in food handling and storage.
**Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
- Communicate effectively with chefs and other team members.
**Recipe Adherence**:
- Strictly adhere to recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in food quality.
- Seek guidance from senior chefs to improve skills and knowledge.
**Quality Control**:
- Assist in quality control measures to ensure the presentation and taste of dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
- Notify senior chefs of any issues or discrepancies in food quality.
**Menu Development**:
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for menu improvements and innovations.
- Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance skills.
**Cleaning and Maintenance**:
- Participate in daily and deep cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen sanitation.
- Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care and report any malfunctions.
**Qualifications**:
**Education and Training**:
- Culinary degree or relevant culinary training is preferred.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in a similar role or culinary internship is an asset.
**Skills**:
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and culinary terminology.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
