The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise- Minimum 4-6 years of work experience on storage / SAN environment.- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.- Strong understanding of storage protocols (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS).- Experience with SAN and Storage hardware (e.g., IBM, Dell, NetApp, HPE, Cisco and Brocade) and software (e.g., power VM, VMware, Hyper-V).- Knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs).- Experience: Practical experience in storage and SAN device administration is crucial.- Experience with cloud storage solutions.- Security Awareness: Understanding of data security best practices to protect sensitive information.- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyse storage performance and capacity.- Communication Skills: Effective communication to collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders.- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data integrity and security.- Storage Protocols: In-depth understanding of storage protocols like Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.- Storage Hardware: Hands-on experience with storage hardware from leading vendors such as IBM, Dell, NetApp, and HPE.- Storage Software: Proficiency in storage management software and tools for provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.- Operating Systems: Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems for storage administration tasks.- Networking: Understanding of network concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and network security.- Scripting: Some knowledge in scripting languages like Python, Perl for automation and troubleshooting.- Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization technologies like powerVM, VMware and Hyper-V, and their integration with storage systems.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.- Willingness to support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs.- Certifications from storage vendors like IBM, NetApp, Dell, or HPE.- Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues.
