**Job Description: Vet Doctor - Farm-In-Charge**

**Location: Vellore, Tamil Nadu**

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly passionate Farm Veterinarian Doctor who would like to add a managerial and supervisory skill set to their work experience to join our team as a Vet Doctor/Farm-In-Charge. This role requires the Veterinarian Doctor to take on the responsibility of managing a thriving farm operation. As a Farm Veterinarian, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine, preferably with a focus on farm animals.

**Responsibilities**:
1. **Daily Reporting**:

- Prepare and share the Livestock Inventory report, including details on mortality, reasons for it, and steps taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Report any daily incidents promptly to the management for appropriate action.

2. **Bi-Weekly Reporting**:

- Maintain and share reports on the inventory of medicines, consumables, feed concentrates, and fodder stock.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Communicate effectively with owners regarding animal health issues and treatment options.

3. **Livestock Management**:

- Collaborate with the farm staff to ensure livestock mortality is kept below 5% and propose continuous improvement strategies to minimize losses.
- Conduct physical examinations and knowledge of basic pathology tests (that can be conducted in-house) to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in the early stages in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
- Provide emergency medical care for the animals when needed.
- Administer vaccinations to prevent and treat diseases in farm animals.
- Perform spaying operations to neuter animals and prevent them from reproducing.

4. **Budgeting and Cost Control**:

- Work with management to set annual operating budgets and ensure operations remain within the agreed-upon financial limits.
- Regularly suggest methods to improve productivity and reduce costs.

5. **Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all farm staff adhere to health and safety regulations and enforce proper bio-security protocols and processes.

6. **Staff Management**:

- Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff members.
- Monitor staff rosters, hours, and performance while addressing any grievances that may arise.

7. **Inventory Management**:

- Maintain minimum stock levels of consumables, fodder, feed, and medicines through effective coordination with management.

8. **Farm Sanitation**:

- Ensure the farm's safety and sanitary conditions are always maintained.

**Requirements**:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license in [state/country].
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a practicing veterinarian, preferably with a focus on farm animals
- Proven experience in farm management or a related field.
- Proficient in diagnosing and treating diseases in a variety of farm animals, including cows, goats, buffaloes, and poultry
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of livestock management and agricultural practices.
- Basic computer skills for generating reports and record-keeping.
- Commitment to safety and bio-security measures.
- Ability to live on-site and manage daily farm activities effectively.

**Salary**: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
