**Business Unit Controller (BUC) - Thomson Reuters Foundation**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented BUC to support our finance team. The BUC will assist in overseeing the organisation's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. **About the Role**:
In this opportunity as a Business Unit Controller
- TR, you will be responsible for:
**Financial Reporting**:

- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly Board papers and analysis.
- Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare ad hoc financial reports for Organisational Funded projects.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts assigned to ensure accuracy and completeness.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**:

- Support the Financial Controller in the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Support the Financial Controller in periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and analyse financial performance to provide insights and recommendations.

**Statutory Reporting, Audit and Compliance**:

- Assist in the preparation of year end accounts, external audit, and any regulatory compliance reviews.

**Process Improvement & Implement process controls**:

- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Implement best practices and systems to enhance financial operations and reporting.
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Implement and maintain internal control procedures.
- Support as ad hoc requests from the CFO and the FC.

**About You**:
You are a fit for the role of Business Unit Controller - TR, if your background includes:

- Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Reporting preferably in a nonprofit or charity organization
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements for charities
- Experience in Statutory Reporting and audits.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
