A merchandiser is a key member of the têxtile industry responsible for the coordination and execution of product development. The primary role of a merchandiser is to ensure that products are created and delivered to meet the demands of the market. They work closely with designers, sales teams, and production departments to ensure successful product development, delivery, and sales

**Key Responsibilities Areas (KRA)**:1. Product development: The merchandiser collaborates with designers to develop new products and ensure that the designs meet customer demands and company goals. 2. Cost-effective sourcing: They manage the procurement process by identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery. 3. Quality control: The merchandiser ensures that the products meet the required quality standards, specifications, and regulations. 4. Production planning: They work closely with production teams to schedule and plan the manufacturing process to ensure timely delivery of products. 5. Inventory management: They monitor inventory levels, identify slow-moving products, and take corrective actions to avoid overstocking or stock outs.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPI)**: 1. Timely delivery: The merchandiser should ensure that products are delivered to customers on time to avoid delays and cancellations. 2. Product quality: The KPI measures the merchandiser's ability to maintain the required quality standards for products. 3. Cost control: The KPI measures the merchandiser's ability to identify cost-effective suppliers, negotiate prices, and reduce costs. 6. Effective Communication: The KPI measures the merchandiser's ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of the merchandising activities.

**Merchandising Process**: 1. Sourcing: The material required to produce the product is sourced from different suppliers. The quality, price, and availability of the raw material are factored in at this step. 2. Sampling and Prototyping: A sample is created so that the design and the material can be tested. In case of any necessary changes, the changes are made, and a prototype is created. The prototype undergoes different tests, ensuring it is of high quality. 3. Costing and Pricing: The cost of production is calculated based on the material and production cost. Pricing should be set to ensure a particular margin of profit. 4. Production Planning: The production schedule is established, and a timeline is created to ensure the product production meets the shipment deadline. 5. Manufacturing: The product's final production takes place in the factory and follows the production plan. Production should also follow quality assurance protocols. 6. Quality Control and Inspection: Quality control measures are implemented by factory supervisors. Inspections are undertaken to review the production and ensure the products ordered match the quality expected.

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
