Product Owners at Anthology are tasked with delivering solutions to the higher education community.

As a Product Owner at Anthology:

- You are a team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating, and influencing across a variety of organizational functions
- You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity, and complexity
- Communications skills are key to success in this role. You will work with most departments at Anthology (development/QA, customer success, design, marketing, and sales)
- You can set priority and feature goals in alignment with the product managers and product vision as well as the needs of the customer

Primary responsibilities will include:

- Product planning, supporting development teams in understanding customer needs, as well as ongoing product lifecycle support
- Delivering on the defined roadmap for a product line or business area in conjunction with Product Development and Product Management
- Partnering with Product Development to discuss product requirements and determine viable development strategies, deliverables, and release dates to deliver per the jointly defined roadmap (writing epics, stories, acceptance criteria, etc.)
- Creating and maintaining the product backlog to align to roadmap deliverables
- Prioritizing and sequencing the backlog according to business value or ROI
- Helping formulate and convey vision and goals with the development team as part of release planning processes
- Developing expertise in Advancement, CRM, fundraising, higher education
- Providing product expertise to support the needs of Account Management, Professional Services Client Support and Training teams
- Working with UX team members and representing the customer by continuously engaging the customer and stakeholders to ensure the team is building the right product
- Participating in the daily standups, iteration planning, iteration reviews, and retrospectives
- Inspecting product progress at key or requested points within an iteration and providing feedback
- Communicating status externally and representing the voice of the team to the outside world and ensuring that all channels of communications are open

Required skills/qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or above in marketing, business, computer science or equivalent functional experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial software product owner and/or product management in a SaaS-based company
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- A results/solution-driven approach
- Strong exposure to a CRM product and process in a client centric company/industry
